I have little patience to watch YT videos

I am getting one August 13th.... 2024 due to severe constipation

I got my colostomy a couple months ago. My normal output will fill the bag within 20 minutes of starting to wake in the morning. During the day, I could have no output to just half the bag by bedtime. How do I tell the difference between a blockage and just normal low output?

Picky eating is because people are spoiled if you didn’t have the option you wouldn’t be so picky when I was a kid you ate what grandma made or you went to bed this isn’t a restaurant and that’s how my kids will be raised too I don’t want them growing up and just throwing there money away cause oh it’s not what I wanted deal with it

I never even thought when visiting old town Alexandria how some building have kerbs. It’s crazy how much you have to think of that most never have to. I was injured a year or so ago which made climbing stairs nearly impossible and it was eye opening. A tip for the metro is if you can back into and out of the car you won’t get the small wheels in the gap. Also the of the car is recommended for wheelchairs.

If ostomates would wear a belt it really helps with keeping the bag on and especially hernias. There is a hernia belt but it does not connect to the bag. I use a little powder every change. Helps with moisture.Try to keep the area clean, clean,clean. Be careful taking off the flange. Do not pull on your skin. I had a little area that was red on the edge and I put a bandaid on it and then put my flange on it as usual. Then use the belt. I get it in beige. Things stay in place so much better.

People always say call your doctor but what if you don't have a doctor? I live in Florida it's not easy to have a doctor I gave up on that and if you did they won't answer the phone just an answering service

Very informative! You have indeed given me enough information to make sure my surgeon does not use the wet to dry method on me. The wet to dry method seems to be from the dark ages.

I had ostomy surgery 2 months ago and everything is new and scary to me but, I'm learning to live with it. It is great to know that I"'m not the only person who is going through this, I've searched the internet and got a lot of information that really helped me. Using a heating pad would only help the wax barrier ring to melt therefore the apparatus to come off.

I disagree with sleeping on the same side as your ostomy. The apparatus comes off every time I try to sleep on the same side of the ostomy.

I had times when you went to sleep at night had a leak and woke up with a mess all over me it was awful 😞

You are talking about constipation, a blockage can be life threatening and require surgery. If you are sitting calmly drinking tea you don't have a blockage. Pain from said blockage makes eating and drinking excruciating.

As I was watching this video, I tripped over my cat. I Can't tell you how many times I have tripped over them. So, I would definitely add pets as being a major fall hazard. Especially cats. For whatever reason, they tend to appear out of nowhere under your feet
